The trip was pretty boring, being mostly over water, until Taiwan showed up
.

It was raining really hard near my destination. Here I am swooping to line up the runway since I couldn't see it until I was nearly on top of it.


Another swoop to straighten out. It wasn't the most centered landing but it was okay.


I found out the next day that I was probably flying in the very outer edge of typhoon Talim there at the end. It was crossing Taiwan to the north when I was landing in the south. 
 
133rd leg: Friday, September 02, 2005
RCAY to VHHH, Kangshan, Taiwan to Hong Kong

Leaving Kangshan. This was a pretty miserable trip. There were thunderstorms and it rained off and on the whole way.
 

This was the type of view I had of Hong Kong. Not much. Stupid real weather.

 

I hate to admit that I didn't actually hit the runway when I landed. That hasn't happened in a long time. I have pretty good excuses -- there was only half a mile visibility and, worse, a stiff crosswind. As I taxied back onto the runway I saw a windsock standing straight out, perpendicular to the runway. Nasty.

VHHH to ZSAM, Hong Kong to Xiamen, China

Leaving Hong Kong International. A sunny day would have been nice but at least it was much better than yesterday.


Instead of heading straight to my destination I flew over Hong Kong to see the city.
